Original Item: One of a Kind. On the face of it this appears to be a pretty typical hunting sword of the late 17th or early 18th century, however this particular sword
is said to have been taken from a FRENCH OFFICER after the Battle of Abraham Heights, QUEBEC in 1759. During this conflict, BOTH the British Commander General James Wolfe and the French Commander, Louis-Joseph the Marquis de Montcalm were killed in the action.

The short sword is 27 1/2 inches overall, with a straight double edged 22" blade. This is fitted with a brass wrapped bone/ivory grip with brass "S" shaped crossguard and a "scallop" shaped chappe. The pommel cap is also brass. Clearly very old and very appealing to the eye, ready to display!
