Original Item: Only One Available. This is a type of dagger that we have not really had before. We have had a fair share of Greek antique firearms, but not any edged weapons from the northern Mediterranean area. The dagger is of a somewhat strange design, encompassing a very wide grip to the rear, which angles in toward the blade. Definitely a design with Middle Eastern influence. The grip scales are of black lacquered horn and the tang is contained in an engraved brass frame work, from which the blade protrudes about 6 inches. The overall length is approximately 10 1/2".

The dagger comes complete with its original scabbard, which is constructed of shagreen leather over wood, which shows some wear to the leather at throat near the top fitting. The plain blade is engraved along its broader strengthened spine. The blade turns up at its point, which adds a nice bit of artistry to the blade shape.

A charming but effective little dagger to conceal under your clothing when visiting the Bazaar. Circa 1810-1850.
