Original Item: Only One Available. These used to be plentiful, but this is only the second example we have had in over 10 years! This bayonet was designed for the Lee-Enfield No.5 MkI Jungle Carbine, which had a large flash hider that prevented earlier bayonets from fitting. The bayonet was also used with the 9 mm Sterling L2 submachine gun. This is totally original British Military production and is marked W.S.C at the base of the blade. This is the marking of the Wilkinson Sword Company, London, who was a WWII contractor for these bayonets. During WWII they produced 188,354 No.5 bayonets for the war effort.

This is the second model of the No.5 Bayonet with two grip screws; the extremely rare MkI had the grip secured by a single screw and a press stud without the screw slot. The bayonet has a 7 3/4 inch "bowie" style clip-point blade, with a wide fuller running down each side, with an overall length of 12 inches. Unlike most bayonets, the wooden grip scales wrap completely around the tang. Comes complete with a correct steel-throated scabbard. Scabbards produced from the 50s onward had large brass throats.

In very good condition, this bayonet looks to have been refinished post war, however the blade is still in great shape. The grips are dark from oil and grease, but still are in good condition. Ready to display with your No.5 Carbine!
