Made and marked on the lock plate by MEAD, Thomas Mead of London opened his shop in 1720.
This wonderful iron barreled Flintlock Blunderbuss is original in all respects. Notable feature include; a 15 inch swamped iron barrel with tang screw rising from beneath. The weapon is 30 inches in overall length and has classic all brass sea service mounts. It has a heavy bore opening to 1.5 inches at the mouth.
This is a fine substantial British Naval Blunderbuss made early in the 18th Century possibly even during the reign of King George 1st (Died 1727).
