Original item: Only One Available. The M1 telescopic sight M1 is the standard telescopic sight for use with the legendary Browning M2HB Ground mounted .50 cal heavy machine gun. The "Ma Deuce" has seen action in every U.S. conflict since its introduction in 1933, and for over 75 years has been THE definitive heavy machine gun, used and licensed by many companies and countries around the world.
During WWII, most guns, even machine guns, were used with standard ladder sights, in use for decades. However some scopes were developed, and were especially useful for the static emplacements of machine guns, especially a heavy machine gun such as the M2. The ballistics and range of the M2 were perfect for a long range sight.
This fine example of the M1 scope is fully marked, with the black finish almost completely intact, with just some wear around the edges. The mounting bracket dovetail is still intact, and mounted on the bottom of the sight. The numbers on the range and traverse adjustments are all still clear, and the left side of the sight still has the manufacturer’s markings on a data plate:
SIGHT, TELESCOPIC, M1
NO. 2255 J.K.C.
FAIRCHILD AVIATION
CORPORATION
1941
The range dial of this sight is correctly marked CAL .50 BROWNING MACHINE GUN, M.V. - 2700 F.S.. The exterior bears additional part and stock numbers, with D29370 on the right side of the body, C70849 on the traverse, and B135961 on the bottom of the dovetail. The scope still provides a good image, and the range and traverse controls still properly move the reticle inside of the sight.
Exceptionally RARE and hard to find, the rubber eye cap is unfortunately absent, either having been lost or more likely degraded.
