Original Item: Only One Available. A fascinating all brass quite ornate cork screw dating to the turn of the 20th century. Engraved on one side:
S. WOOD
SYRACUSE
NEW YORK
We assume this is the manufactures name. One the reverse side it is engraved:
CAPT. Q. CARRUTHERS
1917
Who we assume was the owner of this corkscrew. Research has revealed a host of Canadian and Australian soldiers named Carruthers and some Americans but we have not been able to pin point exactly who this may have belonged to, more research is required. An innovative and attractive item that saw action with the A.E.F. in WW1 and still fully operational (we tested it, cheers!)
