Description
Original Item: One-of-a-kind. The 3"/50 caliber gun is a United States naval gun terminology indicates the gun fired a projectile 3 inches (76 mm) in diameter, and the barrel was 50 calibers long (barrel length is 3 in × 50 = 150 in or 3.8 m). Different guns (identified by Mark numbers) of this caliber were used by the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard from 1890 through the 1990s on a variety of combatant and transport ship classes.

This is a brass shell casing which was customized in a way refered to by collectors as "trench art" with a impressed dragon motif and made into a table lamp. The dragon was very popular symbol in the Pacific Theater, especially China. The lamp is not functional but it would not be difficult to replace some basic parts in order to do so. The shell stands 24" tall and with the lamp assembly it is overall 31" in height.
