Original Item: Only One Available. WWI AEF US Army/USMC M1909 Leather Belt Holster for the Colt or S&W M1917 .45LC Revolver. This is a vintage old military belt holster. It is used, see photo's for condition. The leather is still soft and supple. There are no deep cracks or major issues with the leather. The holster floor piece and brass end cap are unfortunately missing.
The leather has darkened with age. It has a worn US oval logo on the front. On the rear of the holster there are some markings, but due to age and wear they are not completely legible:

This would have been the maker mark, date, and inspector. This is a very nice example of this model holster.
This holster is not a left hand design. It was originally designed to be carried on the right side of the waist with the gun in the "Butt Forward" position. Please see: page #216 in Edward Scott Meadows book "US Military Holsters and Pistol Cartridge Boxes"
